Welcome, Blog Hoppers, to the World of the Blue Bells Chronicles, where I blog about the history, land, and music that are the backdrop of The Blue Bells Chronicles--a tale of time travel, mysteries and miracles, action and adventure, romance and redemption.

On March 23, 2018, the fifth and final book of the series comes out. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until then, I am posting excerpts from the opening scenes. In previous books, Shawn Kleiner, world famous--and notorious--musicians has been trapped in medieval Scotland, fighting with Robert the Bruce, finally making his way back to his own time, with the hopes of making amends to his girlfriend Amy, and reclaiming a place in the life of their young son, James. However--things never quite go according to plan, do they?

Among other things, the evil Simon Beaumont has crossed into Shawn's time, attacking Amy and James. We do not know, at the moment, if he has just crossed back to his own time  or if he's still in the modern castle of Glenmirril. To start with the very opening of the book, click HERE.

Book Five of The Blue Bells Chronicles

CHAPTER ONE...1

Glenmirril, December

Simon stumbled against the wall behind the statue, feeling for the tunnel he’d found on another visit. He turned, scrambling in the dark, deeper into the passageway, a hand on the wall. He stumbled as his feet hit the sharp edge of stairs and slowed, feeling his way, moving with what haste he could. The chill bit more deeply as he descended. The voices faded above as dark pressed in. The dankness grew.

His heart pounded in the black void pressing in on his eyes, the cold chilling his bones, and mustiness filling his nose.

This was the Glenmirril of Shawn’s time.

It was, too, the Glenmirril of Niall’s time.

There was no way to know, down here. Anyone might be following him. He pushed through the blinding dark, a hand to the wall. He heard a voice behind him, muffled, agitated, and forced himself to go faster, feeling with leather boots, and with cold hands on rough, damp stone.

The stairs ended, flattening out, and the passage turned sharply. The ceiling lowered, closing in. He fought a sudden panic rising in his chest, the hammering of his heart. He was back in the deep reaches of his father’s castle, running from the old healer stirring potions in the dank kitchens, blinded, panicking! He would be lost in this void forever! He would starve here, not even knowing what century he was in!

He stopped, pressing his back to the dank wall, staring up into the black void above. He drew a slow breath and lifted his chin, defying fear and anger.

He was the Lord of Claverock!
