When Books & Brews Meets Homesteading

On my podcast, Books & Brews, I interview authors. Today, my interview with author Sara F. Hathaway went live. I really enjoyed talking with her in particular because she has a great deal of knowledge and experience in homesteading skills, having grown up in the country, and taken her farming skills farther as an adult. She went on to write The Changing Earth series, in which Erika Moore and her family must use all their wits, skills, and knowledge to survive a world completely changed after a major disaster.

It's a timely topic in an unstable world where more people are seeking out greater self-sufficiency.

Sara draws on her rich background in herbs, gardening, martial arts, shooting, and much more, to tell the story while also creating a series that teaches skills many have forgotten. Her blog focuses on these skills and more: The Changing Earth Survival Tips

Jump on over to The Glenmirril Crier, our farm blog, to learn about making dandelion wine! Included are four distinct recipes, information on the alcohol content, and step-by-step instructions of the fermentation process: DANDY-LION: KING OF WINES?
